    Venue Jetty Memorial Theatre
Cost $30 Adult, $25 Concession, $17 Junior, $25 Groups of 10 or more
Once described as uninhibited by direction, it is now clear that guitar genius Bruce Mathiske's many eclectic music influences from his world travels have evolved into an exciting style all his own. A new genre borne out of fiery fretwork unique to Mathiske, has been encapsulated in his new CD - Live in Ireland. Described by the Sydney Morning Herald as"Awash with jaw dropping virtuosity", Bruce amazes with the diversity from what essentially is a piece of wood with 6 strings. His use of the guitar makes it become its own orchestra and encompasses a huge range of rhythms from swing to Latin, jazz to African, folk to Spanish, Gypsy to ambient/landscape, simultaneously playing didgeridoo and more. Add to this his percussion combo and you will be taken on a journey with infectious rhythms and fiery fretwork from far flung corners of his guitar.
